A Tampa Bay Working Mom
Publishes a Children’s Book
CLEARWATER,
FL (April 10, 2009)
–
Every working mom knows it is a
struggle, trying to balance your work life and family life.
If you think it’s hard on you, just think about how hard it
must be on your children! Luckily, kids are tough - but
sometimes they just need their Mommy! Summer Martin, a
Tampa Bay resident and a working mother herself has
self-published a children’s book, “Kaylea Grows Up:
Mommy and Me Days”, to help kids and working parents
understand how important it is to dedicate one day a week to
an afternoon of one-on-one, uninterrupted "Mommy and Me"
time spent having fun!
Kids
see their mom’s stressed out, serious side all week long.
Summer believes every working mom should try to take one day
every week to get to know their children and have fun
together! She believes it will not only help them deal with
their time away from their mom during the day, but it will
create special memories for both of them to remember the
rest of their lives.
Summer’s long term goal is to
help other working mom’s understand that it is ok to work.
In fact, she believes it is important for children to see a
“good work ethic” in their mothers. “We are in a day and
age when we see strong women like Michelle Obama, Sarah
Palin and Hillary Clinton, who are working mothers making a
difference in this world. I believe working mothers can help
their daughters learn to have a good work ethic so they too
can have the opportunity to be in the Whitehouse making a
difference in the future!”, says Summer Martin.
“Kaylea Grows Up: Mommy and Me
Days” will soon
be available for sale at
www.authorhouse.com as well as online stores such as
Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble, etc.
Summer Rogers Martin is a
Kentucky native who spent much of her childhood in Costa
Rica and Venezuela, as the daughter of missionaries. Later
she returned to Lexington, Kentucky with her family. A
graduate of Lee University (Tennessee), Summer currently
works in marketing and web design. As a working mom herself,
Summer is very sensitive to the needs and concerns of
working mothers and their children. Mommy and Me Days
was written to preserve some special memories of the times
she and her daughter, Kaylea, have spent together. The book
has been a joint effort between Summer and her own mother,
Debi Rogers, who provided the illustrations.
